Aging Advocacy Web Sites

AARP
AARP is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to helping older Americans achieve lives of independence, dignity and purpose. AARP excels as a dynamic presence in every community, shaping and enriching the experience of aging for each member and for society.

AFL-CIO Department of Public Policy (AFL-CIO)
This is the department of the AFL-CIO responsible for the development of policy on employee benefit issues including health care and Social Security.

AFSCME Retiree Program (AFSCME)
The AFSCME Retiree Program - a division of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees - is the nation's largest organization of public-sector retirees, comprising over 200,000 members in 250 local groups. Its grassroots agenda includes oversight of state and local government retirement benefits, mobilization on federal issues that affect retirees, and political action.

Alliance for Aging Research (AAR)
The Alliance for Aging Research is a nonprofit, bipartisan organization dedicated to promoting research on human aging and the independence of older Americans. The primary mission of the Alliance is to advocate for a greater federal investment into scientific research that could lead to a healthy and productive old age.

Alliance for Health Reform
The Alliance for Health Reform exists to provide that information. We offer a full array of resources and viewpoints, in a number of formats, to elected officials and their staffs, journalists, policy analysts and advocates.

Alliance for Retired Americans
The Alliance believes that all older and retired persons have a responsibility to strive to create a society which incorporates these goals and rights; and that retirement provides them with opportunities to pursue new and expanded activities with their unions, civic organizations, and their communities.

American Association for International Aging (AAIA)
AAIA is the only U.S. governmental organization that undertakes applied research and information exchange on global aging, and plans and organizes practical productive aging and education programs and projects related to aging and development.

American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA)
The American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA) is committed to advancing the vision of healthy, affordable, ethical long-term care for America. The association represents 5,600 mission-driven, not-for-profit nursing homes, continuing care retirement communities, assisted living and senior housing facilities, and community service organizations. Every day, AAHSA's members serve one million older persons across the country.
